But eventually, there comes a point in many a traveller's journey when another plate of nasi goreng simply isn't going to do it.

You want fish and chips. Or sausages and mash. Perhaps a pie.

Maybe a huge smashed burger.

Preferably accompanied by an ice-cold pint and absolutely no judgement whatsoever.

Our beachfront restaurant has been serving hungry travellers, locals and expats on Gili Trawangan for years, with a menu built around proper pub food, international favourites and good old-fashioned comfort food.

Proper Pub Grub in Paradise

We don't attempt to make pub food sophisticated. That's rather missing the point.

Instead, expect generous portions, familiar flavours and the kind of meals you occasionally start dreaming about after you've been travelling for a while.

Here are a few favourites from our current menu:

Fish & Chips

Golden beer-battered fish served with crispy homemade chips and

tartar sauce. Simple. Correct. No explanation necessary.

Sausage & Mash

Succulent pork sausages with creamy mashed potato and rich onion gravy.

The tropical weather outside does absolutely nothing to reduce our

enthusiasm for gravy.

Chicken Pie

A hearty chicken pie served with your choice of chips or mashed potato,

steamed vegetables and creamy sauce. This is probably about as far from

a smoothie bowl as you can get. We're comfortable with that.

Smash Burger

Two homemade smashed beef patties with cheese, shredded lettuce,

caramelised onion, dill pickles and our special sauce, all packed into a

homemade sesame seed bun. Hungry?

There's also the Warriors Upgrade, featuring bacon and four patties.

The Spice Bag

One for our fellow Irish.

Crispy chicken breast and golden potatoes tossed with garlic, onion, red chilli and our house salt-chilli seasoning, served with homemade curry sauce. Spicy, savoury and very moreish.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Tender chicken breast in a creamy tikka masala sauce with tomato, garlic, onion and spices, served with basmati rice and garlic naan.

Bar Snacks & Food for Sharing

Not every visit requires a full sit-down meal.

Our bar snacks and sharing dishes are particularly useful when you've come in to watch the football and suddenly realise three pints don't technically constitute dinner.

Vegetarian & Vegan Food

Pub grub doesn't have to mean meat with something fried next to it.

We've also got vegetarian and vegan choices including our Veggie Burger, Green Glade Wrap, Falafel Salad, Greek Salad, cauliflower bites and vegetable spring rolls, alongside other options.

Vegetarian and vegan dishes are clearly marked on the menu.

Food With a Pint

As an Irish bar, we consider this a fairly important part of proceedings.

Our taps include Bintang, Heineken and Guinness, together with a particularly good selection of Indonesian craft beer including pale ales, wheat beer, Kölsch, IPA and tropical hazy beers.

This is where everything comes together rather nicely. Tír na nÓg is one of Gili Trawangan's main sports bars, showing Premier League football, Champions League, AFL, NRL, rugby, UFC, Formula 1, cricket, tennis and other major sporting events across our screens.

So you don't need to choose between finding somewhere showing the game and somewhere serving decent food.

Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner

We're open from morning until night, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, with breakfast available all day according to our current menu. So whether you're after a proper meal before a night out, a burger while watching the football or something substantial to repair the damage the following morning, there is usually an appropriate answer somewhere on the menu.
