Watch Live Sport on Gili Trawangan - Tír na nÓg Irish Bar

We're Gili T's original sports bar: a beachfront Irish pub with a proper pub atmosphere, multiple big screens, ice cold beer on tap - and the ability to show (pretty much) any sporting event in the world.

From a Premier League Sunday afternoon to a 6am F1 qualifying session, we open early, we show it all, and we do it better than anyone else on the island.

If you're looking for somewhere to watch the football, catch the rugby, follow the Formula 1, or keep up with any sport on the planet while you're on the Gili Islands — you've found the right place. Tír na nÓg Irish Bar has been Gili Trawangan's home of live sport since we first opened our doors, and there's a reason travellers from all over the world make us their first port of call on match day.

What Sport Can You Watch at Tír na nÓg?

The short answer: everything. If it's broadcast anywhere in the world, we can show it. Our dedicated sports setup means no event is too big, too niche, or too awkward a time zone to be off the table. Here's what we regularly screen:

  • Football (Soccer) - The Premier League, Champions League, Europa League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, World Cup qualifiers, international friendlies, and every major tournament. If there's a significant football match happening anywhere on earth, we're showing it.

  • Rugby - Six Nations, Rugby World Cup, Premiership Rugby, Super Rugby, Guinness PRO14, and the Autumn Internationals. Rugby fans are always welcome at Tír na nÓg - and we know how to create an atmosphere for it.

  • AFL & NRL - We know our Australian contingent - and we look after them properly. AFL and NRL are a fixture on our screens throughout their seasons. You won't miss a finals week living it up on Gili T.

  • Formula 1 & MotoGP - Race weekends are big events at the bar. We open early for European morning sessions, and the bar fills up for every Grand Prix. Whether you're a casual fan or a grid-position analyst, you're among friends here.

  • UFC & Combat Sports - Fight nights bring the crowds in. We show every major UFC card, boxing world title fights, and major combat sport events. Fight nights at Tír na nÓg have become something of an institution on the island.

  • NBA, NFL & American Sports - Basketball and American football fans visiting from the US, Canada, and beyond always find a home at our bar. We track the NBA season and the NFL calendar and will always try to accommodate a specific game request.

  • Cricket - Test matches, The Ashes, ODIs, T20 World Cups - cricket is always on our radar. Whether it's a rain-interrupted Test at Lord's or a T20 thriller, we've got you covered.

  • Tennis - Wimbledon, the US Open, French Open and Australian Open all feature on our screens. Grand Slam seasons are always busy at the bar.

  • Golf Majors - The Masters, The Open Championship, US Open and PGA Championship all get airtime. We'll quietly put the golf on for those who ask and deliver cold beers to make the slow sections bearable.

And Everything Else - Olympics, Winter Olympics, World Athletics Championships, cycling's Grand Tours, darts, snooker, and more. If you're looking for a specific event and you're not sure if we're showing it - just ask. The answer is almost always yes.

Why Tír na nÓg is Gili Trawangan's Best Sports Bar

There are a handful of places on Gili T where you can find a screen and a beer. There's only one that does it properly.

  1. Multiple Screens - We've set the bar up specifically for sport. Multiple large screens mean you can always get a good view, regardless of where you sit. No craning your neck from the wrong end of the bar.

  2. Sound On - Always We show sport with the commentary up. This might sound obvious, but it isn't everywhere. At Tír na nÓg you can follow the game, not just watch it in silence between songs.

  3. Craft Beer & Ice Cold Draught - We're the only bar on Gili Trawangan with craft beers on tap, alongside a full selection of classic draught lagers and ales. Watching a match with a cold Guinness, a crisp lager, or something local on tap is the right way to do it.

  4. Early & Late Opening for Big Matches - The Asia time zone means plenty of European sport falls at awkward hours. We open early for big matches - Champions League knockouts, Grand Prix race days, major rugby internationals. Check with us before you go to bed and we'll tell you what time doors open.

  5. Proper Pub Food - No one wants to watch three hours of sport on an empty stomach. Our kitchen serves classic pub grub - fish and chips, smashed burgers, sausages and mash, pies, nachos, wings, and a full menu of sharing plates. It's the food you want on match day.

  6. The Atmosphere - This is the thing that's hardest to manufacture and the thing we're most proud of. When Gili T fills up for a big match - a World Cup knockout, a Champions League final, an AFL Grand Final - the atmosphere at Tír na nÓg is genuinely electric. It's a crowd of travellers from around the world united by sport, cold drinks, and the absurdity of watching elite sport from a beachfront bar on a tiny Indonesian island. There's nothing quite like it.
